Dr. Sur worked directly with the two owners of an optometry company over multiple meetings to understand and document their vision so the system could be broken down into concrete levels. This process also enabled the novel owners to process their thinking and come to an agreement. Afterward, Dr. Sur further broke down the elements to describe the number of major systems, interdependencies, data mapping, and expected number of users.
As a startup that sought further investments, Dr. Sur provided recommendations on development priorities and ways to convince future stakeholders to have greater faith in their company. As part of the system design, Dr. Sur also captured how their system could scale for performance as their customer base increased.
